Condolences
My deepest sympathies. I will always remember on BACA's trips down to the Illinois state fair, Jerry would ask my late wife Susan if She brought the one particular cookie she made. Alan

Greg and Family, we are so sorry for your loss. I know first hand how it feels to lose a parent. Hang in there. We love you and are here for you. Even though we didn't know him, we know he had to be a great man because his greatness shows through his children and Greg you are a great friend to us and a great husband to Genia and great father and grandfather. Love you all.

I was so sorry to hear of Jerry's passing. I had heard he had been ill. Though I didn't know him well, our paths crossed many times....these past few years. Our CSAGSI genealogy group had a close relationship to his program through the years and Jerry always publicized our meetings and events. Several years ago I talked with him of his early years and how he came to this country...He had been interviewed by the Czech National Museum Library in Cedsr Rapids and I talked with him about his early years. He had a fascinating story of how he got here and the people who helped him along the way. A couple times our paths crossed again at the Czech Plaza Restaurant where he was quite a regular patron. He was proud to be an American but he embraced his Czech heritage with his music and his programs. He will be missed by many in the Chicago Czech community. Barb & Family, My heart goes out to you. They don't make them like your dad anymore. I'm sure he went to heaven with a song in his heart and had 'em dancing last night (my mom was probably tapping her toes too). My prayers are for you all to be comforted by only remembering the happy times and the special bond you had-especially in these last few weeks. He was a good man.
