Charles T. Hitzeman

Chuck is the President of the Hitzeman Funeral Home. The fifth generation to operate the funeral home. Like his father, grandfather and great grandfather and Chuck graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Previous to that, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics.  He has a strong sense of community and is passionate about continuing the excellent service that Hitzeman Funeral Home has provided for generations, customer satisfaction and exceeding (our families’) expectations. Chuck met his wife Danielle while attending the University of Wisconsin-Madison. They have two children; Rachel and Joe. They are excited to help out the family. Chuck is an active member of the LaGrange Park-Brookfield Lions Club International. He is also involved with the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce and is a supporter of Cub Scout Troop # 90. He was a recipient of the USW 2016 Advisor of the year, Melvin Jones, Foundation Fellow Award in 2016.



Danielle A. Hitzeman
Owner & Assistant

Danielle A. Hitzeman, is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Education. Besides being an assistant at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Danielle is a devoted Mom to Rachel and Joe. She is a loyal fan at her children’s Little League and softball games. You may see her volunteering and attending community functions alongside Chuck as well.



Scott Sichta
Funeral Director and Embalmer

Scott is a Funeral Director for Hitzeman Funeral Home. He has been in the funeral industry since 2002 working in the private and corporate realms throughout his career and in fact graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science with Chuck. He is a life-long Joliet resident who graduated from Joliet Catholic Academy. He has two sons that keep him busy. He and his wife Kasey enjoy spending time with friends and family; especially when it involves barbeque. He is a certified Crematory Operator and a past member of Rotary International.


Donna M. Walker
Executive Secretary
Licensed Insurance Pre-Need Specialist

Donna joined Hitzeman Funeral Home in the spring of 2012 and brings with her years of experience with sales, marketing, designing websites, and customer service. She has worked within the staffing and caregiving sector as well as the hospitality industry. She volunteers her time and creative side working with the LTHS Adults with Special Needs Drama Program designing, painting, and building sets.



Carl Saks
Funeral Home Assistant

Carl works as an assistant to the Funeral Director.  He is involved in the day to day maintenance of Hitzeman Funeral Home.  Carl is retired from Wonder Bread Interstate Baking Company.  He is an active member of the Trinity Community Church in Berwyn, IL.  He and his wife Jan have been married for over 40 years; a proud father of three with five beautiful grandchildren.


Tom Carlson
Funeral Assistant

Tom Carlson (also known as Deacon Tom) is a lifelong area resident of LaGrange Park and Brookfield. Married to his lovely wife Pam for over 31 years. They have 4 adult Children, and 2 Grandchildren. Tom was ordained a Catholic Deacon in 2018 serving at Holy Guardian Angels Parish. Tom enjoys serving others, is dedicated to family and friends, and thoroughly enjoys the outdoors. Tom consistently gives 100% of himself to those he encounters. He has a compassionate demeanor which people often find very comforting.

Gus Gladstein
Funeral Assistant

Gus, a resident of Riverside, graduated from Riverside Brookfield High School. In the fall, he plans on studying Biology at UIC. You will find him assisting us with many tasks around the Funeral Home during visitations and funerals. He enjoys camping, fishing, and being in the great outdoors.


Todd N. Hitzeman
Retired President & Owner – Emeritus
Funeral Director and Embalmer
Licensed Insurance Pre-Need Specialist

4th Generation Funeral DirectorTodd and his wife Susan are transitioning into retirement.  Todd was the fourth generation to operate the funeral home.  Todd will serve as a consultant and will assist Hitzeman Funeral Home.  Todd and Sue will continue to be a strong supporter of our community.


Susan “Sue” M. Hitzeman
Retired Office Manager & Owner
Licensed Insurance Pre-Need Specialist

Sue joined the business when she married Todd in 1977. When Todd’s father, Norbert, retired in 1995, Todd and Sue purchased the funeral home. After working along side her husband Todd, she will be transitioning into retirement along with Todd.  Sue will also serve as a consultant for Hitzeman Funeral Home.
