Mercedes Martinez, nee Rivera, age 87 of Chicago. Devoted mother of Francesca (John) Liepe, Louis (Judith) Martinez, Philip (Sarah) Martinez and Nicolet (Richard) Zilinsky; loving grandmother of Kaitlin (Kyle) Krebs, Kevin W. Liepe, Michael J. Liepe, Brittany L. Martinez, Rachel Ryan Martinez, Marin Rivera Martinez, Jackson L. Zilinsky and the late Jamie Lynn Martinez; great grandmother of William, Emilia & Colin Krebs; sister of Jacqueline Romano, Mathilda (Jess) Mendoza, Jessica Ludway, Arthur Rivera, Jaime (Celeste) Guerrero, and the late Louis Rivera, Dolores Rivera, Mario Guerrero and Louise Chedister;  aunt of many nieces and nephews; loving partner of Robert Toribio.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. and Friday, January 3, 2025 from 9 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. Funeral Friday, January 3, 2025  9:30 A.M. to St. Louise de Marillac Church Mass 10 A.M.

Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
