In Memory Of

James Kozinski

Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and love that we mourn the passing of James Michael Kozinski, of LaGrange Park, at the age of 73 years. Beloved companion of Sandra Oberoi; son of the late Ann and late Walter Kozinski; brother of Thomas (Diane) Kozinski, the late John (Joanne) Kozinski, and Linda Kozinski; and fond uncle of Susan (Anthony) Romano and Jennifer (Josh) Domina. He will be lovingly remembered by numerous relatives and friends.

Jim was a hardworking, generous, and kind-hearted man. Much of his outlook on life was shaped by his time spent working as a conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad for 34 years. His hobbies included admiring vintage cars, capturing photos, and raising tropical fish. He spent much of his time enjoying the outdoor sunshine through his passions for gardening, cooking up barbecue on the grill, and listening to the birds chirp in the backyard. Jim could often be found reminiscing over the classic TV shows and rock & roll music of the 70s. He truly found peace in life’s simple moments and inspired those who knew him to do the same.

A visitation will take place from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 23rd, with a last viewing from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24th at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd. located at 9445 31st Street in Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be held at St. Louise de Marillac Catholic Church in LaGrange Park at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at the Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, Illinois.
