Dear Virginia, Laura, and Gus' family: My thoughts, my heart and prayers are with you right now. Thank you so much for sharing a little bit of Gus with me... Thank you for all the times you welcomed me to your home, and for sharing his love and light with all of us. He taught me so much, and I will always cherish our friendship! He always saw the silver-lining and positive in every situation, regardless of how bad it was. He knew so many people and places and introduced me to so many new new things. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I hadn't met him. Though I know the world will never be the same without him, I pray that he left a piece of his strength and positivity behind for us, and as you move through this incredibly difficult loss. Your family will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you.

Gustavo was such a wonderful person. I feel priviledged for having known him at Ferris and so grateful that he was a part of my family's life for the time that he was there and after graduation, through his friendship with my daughter Natalia. He never gave up on his goal of finishing his degree, despite his health challenges. It was a joy to watch him get his diploma and be acknowledged for his drive and accomplishments.I'll always cherish my memories of Gustavo, from the first time I met him at a college fair and talked about enrolling at Ferris, to meetings, festivals, student dinners at our house, up until his graduation. May God comfort his family and give him a peaceful, eternal rest.

So sad to hear of Gus’s passing! I went to FSU with Gus and he is who got me signed up with the Be the Match bone marrow registry. I actually got matched and was able to help someone and I credit Gus for leading me to do that. He always brought joy to those around him. Praying for the family during this difficult time.

My condolences to family and friends of Gus. What an amazing soul that we were all blessed to know. Gus and I spent time as students in the HVAC program at Ferris State University. His positive personality was infectious and inspiring. I am forever grateful our paths crossed.
