Condolences

My family lived across the street from the Vebecks. We became friends and shared many happy memories, including playing softball in the street until a car came along, soaking each with the hoses in the summer, going trick or treating on Halloween, ice skating and sledding in the winter. All these things ended when my family moved to Southern California in the summer of 1959. But just because we moved across country to a way different life, did not mean the end of a friendship. In fact, Linda came out to visit us during the summer and we showed her our new life in California. Linda was closer to my older sister than me and that's okay. They were tomboy and I was just the bratty little pest of a sister who wasn't a tomboy. I don't know why Linda popped into my head today but when she did, I decided to Google her to see if I could connect with her. Imagine my surprise when I found out Linda had passed away. I wish I could fly out to Chicago for her services on the 18th. It would have meant a lot in the same way when her father, Jim, came out to California when my mother Marion passed away in 1972. But know I send my deepest sympathy to her family members and friends. Rest in eternal peace, Linda. God bless you abundantly in His glorious heaven. .
