Dear Barb! I was so sorry to hear of Steve's passing. It's been a long time since I've seen either of you. I have very fond memories of all the many performances we played together in the early days with various groups. Steve will always be remembered by his friends and colleagues as an intelligent and kind man who brought the joy of music to all the many people he encountered. I wish you comfort at this sad time. Steven was the violin teacher of our 3 children for many years. His tremendous love of the violin and dedicated teaching are a gift he gave our children. There is less joy in the world without Steven’s music. May he bring joy to Heaven.

Barb, I am so sorry to hear about Steve! Even though we have not gotten a chance to visit much over the years, I always enjoyed chatting with Steve. Such a great person! And I know what a wonderful marriage and relationship you had, for sure to be admired by myself. Take care of yourself and relish the memories. I know Steve is now an angel looking out for you along with your Mom and Dad. My prayers are with you! Sending you hugs and love! Your Cuz Jo Rommel

I only played a few gigs with Steve, but when I heard this sad news, all I could think was what a super nice guy he was! I bet many people had the same reaction as I did, a testament to his character, and not one often said of violinists! I'm so sorry for the loss of your husband.

Dear Barb and family, I am so sorry to hear of this loss! I have many fond memories of sharing a stand with Steve in Elgin. He always had a kind word to say and, usually, a great joke or two. His thoughtful personality and amazing intellect brightened many days. My condolences to you.

Barb, So very sorry for your loss. We have been neighbors for 35+ years. We remember hearing Steve playing the violin when windows were open, how professional and lovely. Barb, you have our deepest sincere sympathy, praying for you during your time of loss.
