Connerty Family – The country lost a patriot. North Riverside lost a beloved neighbor. My family and I lost a genuine and treasured friend. But your loss is beyond words and comprehension. And so please accept the most sincere and heartfelt sympathies of the Kucera and Storcel families as you move through this incredibly difficult time. In such times, American poet Henry Van Dyke’s “Gone From My Sight” has provided me a measure of peace and comfort, as I hope it can do for you now. Gone From My Sight I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side, spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other. Then, someone at my side says, ‘There, she is gone.’ Gone where? Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast, hull and spar as she was when she left my side. And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port. Her diminished size is in me -- not in her. And, just at the moment when someone says, ‘There, she is gone,’ there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout, ‘Here she comes!’ And that is dying... May the peace of Jesus Christ be with you and your family, now and always. Paul Kucera

Dear Patty, Family and Friends of Bob: Our heart aches for your tremendous loss of Bob. Please accept our deepest, heartfelt condolences. If I may tell you our experience with Bob in the just under two years we have known him moving across the street from Bob and Patty and how wonderful a man Bob was to us welcoming us to the neighborhood almost immediately upon our moving in. He left a note in our mailbox with him and Patty's both mobile and home phone numbers and said "welcome to the neighborhood!" From there, we became more than just neighbors as Bob would come over and hang out with us to sit on the deck and just talk to get to know one another better. We got on well immediately finding out that we both had commonality in having a Czech background. We talked about everything from food, to where we came from, his high school funny stories with his buddies, to life in general -he was especially a great support when we were going through a family crisis member in hospice. Bob was extremely generous with his love and time for all neighbors and I am sure his friends. He was the one that I called when I needed something looked at quickly with electric in the basement or anything for that matter. Bob would dropped anything to help if you called him. He would ALWAYS look out for all of his neighbors and be there in a pinch if you called him. In the very short time we knew Bob we loved him, that in itself says so much. We miss seeing him sitting on his front porch at 6am reading the paper waving at us as we left for work. Just seeing him in general was always somehow comforting- out working on his yard or helping other neighbors always. It is hard to write this because we are so very sad he is no longer with us physically. We are certain he is looking over his entire family with love. To the family and friends: we hope that the wonderful memories you have with Bob will embrace you and sustain you during this extremely difficult time, and also that in time which we are sure you will, smile and laugh on all the wonderful memories you hold dear in your hearts forever. RIP BOB- Thank you for your kindness we miss you very much! Nazdrovy in your honor and memory! Love, Mike and Kathy Spinelle

I am saddened to learn of Bob's passing. He was part of so many of my high school escapades, I cannot remember them all. He was a hail-fellow-well-met and always had a good word. RIP. Brian Vuolo
