John was a really special man. My family’s life wouldn’t have been the same without him and Nancy. He was loving, warm, and always ready to joke around. He taught me the word paisan, even though he was Polish and I was the Italian. He was the embodiment of the old Olive Garden slogan, “if you’re here, you’re family”, which sounds silly but that is how John made it feel to be around him. A truly special man with a truly special family. With Love, The Iowa Scolaros

In loving memory of my dear Uncle John, who was truly the best. We shared many special memories, especially the time he welcomed me to the lake house for Labor Day weekend shortly after I moved to the state. Celebrating his birthday with an Aperol spritz, his latest favorite, making me feel so loved and welcomed, as he did for so many others. This past week, while camping in Wisconsin with an Aperol spritz in hand, I celebrated him in a way that felt so true to his spirit. Uncle John, your kindness and generosity will never be forgotten. I'll cherish our memories forever.

My condolences to Nancy, Jimmy, and the kids. John was one of the nicest persons I have ever known. A college friend from the seventies. Rest in peace old friend. Scott
