Helenka Gaydusek

Helenka E. Gaydusek, nee Prager, age 82 of Bolingbrook, formerly of Brookfield. Beloved wife of the late Jerome M. Gaydusek fond mother of Karole (Phil Arnone) Gaydusek and James (Sandra) Gaydusek; step grandmother of Jackie Hanson, Philip (Adrienne) Arnone III, Ryan Arnone; Babi of Jadalyn Dawn Hanson and Giovanna Rae Arnone, Philip Joseph Arnone IV and Leona Everett Arnone; sister in law of John (the late Eleanor) Gaydusek and Judy (Walter) Cudecki; aunt, cousin and friend to many.

Visitation Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, Ltd., 9445 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513.  Lying in State Wednesday, August 7, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Woodside Road, Riverside, IL 60546.  Service 10 a.m.

Interment Bohemian National Cemetery Masaryk Mausoleum.

Helen was a long time member of CSA for over 75 years, including secretary treasurer of CSA as well as an officer to Lodge DuPage Pioneers/Edison # 409, as well as an officer to Cultural Division of District Council #12 and delegate of District Council # 12 . She was also a volunteer board member of Friends of Bohemian National Cemetery. Her dedication to this organization and her heritage was undeniable. Her willingness to help and consult even from her hospital bed, showed how much she loved what she did. Mother figure to all who crossed her path.
